  14. I consider buying a modem, but I like to know if I will be able to connect
  15. it to the telephone lines in the US without much hazard. I realise that 
  16. the modem signals a compatible, (with minor exceptions) but what about the 
  17. HW side ? For instance I know that english phones cannot be connected directly
  18. to the greek network. So I would like to know what happens with a modem 
  19. in any of the following country pairs :

  21. Switzerland - U.S.
  22. Switzerland - Germany
  23. Switzerland - Greece
  24. Greece - Germany
  25. Greece - US
  26. Germany - US
  27.  
  28. Anybody who can comment on any of them ? :-))
